Implement Quadratic Voting for Major Proposals
Introduce quadratic voting mechanism to reduce whale dominance in major governance decisions.
Description
Overview
This proposal aims to implement a quadratic voting mechanism for all Major and Constitutional proposals in PiggyVerse.
Motivation
Currently, voting power is directly proportional to PIGGY Points held. This can lead to whale dominance where a few large holders can override the collective will of many smaller participants.
Specification
- Standard proposals: 1 PIGGY = 1 vote (unchanged)
- Major proposals: Votes = √(PIGGY Points)
- Constitutional: Votes = √(PIGGY Points) with Poiki veto retained
Benefits
- More democratic representation
- Reduces plutocratic tendencies
- Encourages broader participation
Risks
- Complex to explain to new users
- May reduce incentive to accumulate PIGGY Points
Timeline
If passed, implementation within 30 days.
